Summer Learning Journey ~ Build a Boat

Today I have done another activity called build a boat. In this activity I needed to build my own boat using recycled materials. To create my own one I used a plastic container, paper, and a colouring marker. After creating it I put some water in my sink to test out my boat if it will float or sink, and it floated.

To create your own boat you can look around your house and search for items that you think you can make into a boat, and construct it. Then you can put some water in your sink and test if your boat sink or float.

I enjoyed doing this activity because it was fun searching for materials in my house that I can reuse to make my boat.

It is me Quein again a blog commenter for the Manaiakalani Summer Learning Journey. Thank you for sharing your mahi with me and your fellow bloggers. It is Great to see that you were able to be creative in the task and you have created a fantastic boat that can float. It is awesome to see you thinking about kaitiakitanga as you used materials that are reusable and recyclable. Finally it was really good to see that you have given a list of materials you have used so that your fellow bloggers may give it a go.

What other material do you think you could use to create a boat that can float?

Keep up the Super work we look forward to your next blog post!!!

    Have a Super Summer!!!

    Ngā mihi,

  2. Kia Ora Chisa,
I love your boat - especially with it being wind powered with such a beautiful sail.
Did you try putting anything in it to see if it could carry weight - I bet it would be able to carry a lot of weight as it has such a great design.
