Summer Learning Journey | Kennings Poem about Bees

Today Fotu and I have done another activity called Kennings Poem. Kennings poem is like a riddle, and each line has only 2 words, and the two words are seperated by a hyphen(-). The two words can be a noun and a verb or two nouns.

While doing this activity we were listing animals that reminded of summer. We chose bees because we both have been seeing bees in our garden as well as other parts of our community.

We both enjoyed doing this activity because it made us think more about what words we were going to use to write about the bees.

  1. Great work here Chisa. I was not aware of kennings poems, but now understand these. The video is great. It is always better if the audience can see and hear you. Your background with the bees works really well.

  2. Kia ora Chisa,

This is a beautiful poem! Well done, you spoke beautifully and the poem flows very nicely.

I especially like the background slide you have made with the bees and the clouds. It's very peaceful and calm, just like your poem.

Have you written poetry before? Do you enjoy it?

Keep up the excellent and creative work.

    Ngā mihi,
    Lauren
