Kiwi Sport | Touch

This week we played a game of touch using all the skills that we have learnt over the past few weeks.

First we practiced passing and catching to each other. Doing this drill improved most people's skills.

Lastly we played a game of touch. We were separated into three teams and versed the other two teams. During this game we used two and three man settle, and also the skills that we learnt from the past week.

I enjoyed playing touch, and I improved my catching and passing.

Kiwi Sport | Touch

This week we played a game of touch using all the skills that we have learnt over the past few weeks.

First we practiced two man settle and three man settle before playing a game. During this game we needed to go straight and aim at one person. To do a two man settle the person A had to touch and put the ball under their feet and step under it. Then the person B had to get the ball and run forward. It was the same for the three man settle but with three people.

Lastly we played a game of touch. We were separated into three teams and versed the other two teams. During this game we used two and three man settle.

I was exhausted because I was a good defender after the dummy half touched the ball, I sprinted up to touch the dummy half and went back 5 meters, I did the same process again.

Touch Rugby | Kiwi Sport

This week we learned how to do two man settle and three man settle.

After playing a game we practiced two man settle and three man settle. To do a two man settle the person A had to touch and put the ball under their feet and step under it. Then the person B had to get the ball and run forward. It was the same for the three man settle but with three people.

Lastly we played a game of touch. We had to walk through the game for the people who didn't know how to play the game. In this activity we used each skill that we learnt from the past few weeks.

I enjoyed doing this activity. I found this easy because I have done this before.

Kiwi Sport | Touch Rouby

This week we learned how to do a new skill called plant the ball in touch rugby.

First we did a drill by touch, place the ball on the ground, then step over the ball with a buddy.

Next we played a game where we had two teams. We then tried to get the ball by touching the other team. After they were tagged they had to place the ball on the ground then go over the ball, and the other team will get it.

Lastly we played a game where we had the 2 attackers and 1 defender, and we had to get the ball to score.

I enjoyed doing this activity. I found this easy because I have done this before.

Kiwi sport | Touch Rugby

This week I learned and practiced the three basic skills of touch rugby, catching, passing, tap the ball, and try.

First we did drills by doing tapping the ball, try, and catching. We also had to remember to make the W with our hands.

Next we did passing. We had to remember that we had to communicate with each other, and to throw the ball with two hands not one hand.

After that we played a small game using all three skills that we did in the drills.

I found doing these skills easy because I have done this before.

Kiwi Sport | Touch

This week we learned how to do 2 skills, they are catching, and passing.

First we learned how to catch and pass our selves. When we were catching the ball we had to make a W with our hands.

Next we learned to catch and pass with a buddy. The person that was catching the ball had to be behind the person who was passing or it will be a forward pass.

Lastly we played a game using the 2 skills that we learnt. We had to place the ball into the different coloured hoops.

I enjoyed doing this activity. I also found passing and catching easy because I have done this before.

Swimming

We were learning new skills.

First I practised swimming with kick boards. We faced the water, did little kicks, then rolled on to my back.

Next we did stream line. We swam in my front then turned up to see the ceiling.

Then we did diving. We touched the floor of the swimming pool.

Lastly we did kicking on my back. We rolled on my front after I was swimming on my back.

I enjoyed doing the diving and found this a bit easy because I knew how to do some of the swimming skill.

Swimming

The first lesson for my water safety was used to get into groups by showing the instructors our swimming ability.

I was put into Kelly's group. In Kelly's group, we practiced swimming in our front and my back to the other platform.

Next we did stream line. I had to point my arm and my hands and I to the other platform.

Then I practiced turning our front then turning to our backs on the water with boards.

Finally I did free styling and practiced jellyfish. I had to float on my back and did sculling.

I found this a bit easy because I knew how to do some of the swimming skill.

Digging is a receiving position in volleyball.

How to do a dig:

First, put your left leg in front of your right leg.

Next have your hand to a clench, and also the other hand too, also making sure that your elbows are straight.

Then bend your legs a bit.

Get ready to hit the ball!

Volleyball

When playing volleyball the first thing we have to learn is a set. Set is an overhead contact of the ball.

First put left leg at the back, and the right leg at the front.

Next have both legs and elbows bent.

The hands have to be above the head and spaced out in a diamond shape.

When the ball comes to someone the person has to get into the position and extend the knees and elbows pushing the ball with the fingers not the palms.

The person that has the ball should be ready in the position of a set.
