Kiwi sport | Touch Rugby

This week I learned and practiced the three basic skills of touch rugby, catching, passing, tap the ball, and try.

First we did drills by doing tapping the ball, try, and catching. We also had to remember to make the W with our hands.

Next we did passing. We had to remember that we had to communicate with each other, and to throw the ball with two hands not one hand.

After that we played a small game using all three skills that we did in the drills.

I found doing these skills easy because I have done this before.

Maths | Comment Thread

A comment thread is an ongoing conversation using a greeting, a positive feedback, and a question. When writing a question an open or a closed question is been used.

An open question is a good way to ask people questions so someone can find more information about the topic.

The following comment thread written below was used with proper maths vocabulary.

A comment thread is a good way to share knowledge and build up the understanding.

Translating | Te Reo Maori

This week for Maori I have translated the Maori words to the English words.

I first started off with the daily routine by writing the date in Maori. Today is "Ko te Raapa tenei ra, te rua tekau ma tahi o Whiringa-a-nuku." Tomorrows date is "Ko te Rapare i tenei ra, te rua tekau ma rua o Whiringa-a-nuku."

Next I translated each of the Maori words to the English words.

Lastly I matched the weather and the feeling that I knew, then use Maori dictionary for the Maori words that I didn't know.

I enjoyed writing down Maori words and matching the weather and feelings.

SSR Selfie | Reading | Can-Do

This week for SSR Selfie I have read this book called "The First Case." This is a fiction book (a made up story).

First I wrote the author of the book and the illustrator of this book, wrote 3 facts about this book,  wrote what I thought of the book, and new words.

I found reading this book interesting because detective Gordon found different types of clues that was left by the thief.

Reading | Novel Study | The Twits

The Twits is a fictional book that was created by the author Roald Dahl.

After Mrs Twit dropped her glass eye into Mr Twit's beer, Mr Twit took revenge by putting a frog inside Mrs Twit's bed. When Mrs Twit went inside the bed, she felt slimy and cold next to her feet. She started screaming about the problem, then fainted.

The next day Mrs Twit got several worms from the garden and mixed the worms to the spaghetti. During lunch Mr Twit complained about the spaghetti being too squishy. Then Mrs Twit confessed about how there were worms in his spaghetti.

The Twits is a funny book that lots of people can read including children.

Commenting

Today I have commented on Bella's SSR Selfie.

A comment thread is an ongoing conversation using a greeting, a positive feedback, and a question. When writing a question there are open questions and closed question.

I found this comment thread fun because I was able to ask an open question.

Kiwi Sport | Touch

This week we learned how to do 2 skills, they are catching, and passing.

First we learned how to catch and pass our selves. When we were catching the ball we had to make a W with our hands.

Next we learned to catch and pass with a buddy. The person that was catching the ball had to be behind the person who was passing or it will be a forward pass.

Lastly we played a game using the 2 skills that we learnt. We had to place the ball into the different coloured hoops.

I enjoyed doing this activity. I also found passing and catching easy because I have done this before.

LI.to play touch rugby.
