Asking and answering questions

LI.to answer and ask question in the picture.

Today was our fifth session for te reo Maori. Our task was to ask and answer question in Maori. First we wrote what the weather, and how we felt. Next we learnt what left, right, above, down, and middle, front, and back in Maori. Then we answered questions to where the object was. Example: Kei hea te kutikuti? (left) Kei te taha mau. Lastly we created our own questions, and wrote where the object was. I enjoyed doing this activity because I didn't know how to say an object is above, right, front, etc.

Care Awards Attitude

LI.to research someone who has a positive attitude despite difficulties that have faced.

This was my last silver attitude care award. For this activity I have researched one particular person that have come to this school, and he is Marc. In the google drawing it tells some information about what happened in his life. One information about him is that when he was the age of 15 to 24 he caused a succssful crime of stealing cars, but in 1992 he turned his life around by becoming one of New Zealands top hardware architects, and also became the New Zealand lightweight boxing champion. I enjoyed doing this activity because I was able to find about his past life and what he had gone through.

Samoan Language Week

LI: To pay it forward by creating a screencastify that teaches others how to use Samoan words and phrases.

This week is Samoan Language Week - Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa. The theme for 2021 is Poupou le lotoifale. Ola manuia le anofale which means strengthen the posts of your house, for all to thrive. In LS2 we have decided to value the measina of the language by creating a screencastify that teaches others how to use Samoan words and phrases. I found this challenge a little bit hard because it was difficult to say some of the pronunciations of some greetings.

Care Awards | Attitude

LI.to select an area of the school and keep it beautiful for 3 weeks.

This was my fourth silver attitude for keeping somewhere in our school clean for 3 weeks. For this task I needed to think of a place that I think that I can clean up, and I chose the shelf. I chose the shelf because it was one of the messy parts of the classroom. I enjoyed doing this activity because it can teach people to tidy things back without being asked.

Care Awards | Attitude

LI.to research the role of the PHN in our school, and tell others how they help us.

This was my third silver attitude task telling about some informatuion about the PHN. PHN stands for Public Health Nurses ensuring peoples safety, and help them recover from an injury. For this task I needed to write about what the role of the PHN was, what does the PHN do, and what I thought about the PHN. I enjoyed doing this activity because it helped me understand more about what a PHN do.

My Reading Pathway

LI.to show my personal journal through books.

This week is book week at Panmure Bridge School, which means every class participates in a number of reading activities. One of our activities was to create a reading pathway that shows how my favourite books have changed over time. At the moment I like reading the Harry Potter series because it gets more adventurous as I read more.

Cinquain Poem

LI: To write a cinquain poem to describe a polar bear.

We have been learning to write cinquain poems to help us strengthen our connections to description. A cinquain poem has 5 lines. Each line has a different purpose. Line 1 is a noun which is a name. Line 2 has 2 adjectives taht describe the noun. Line 3 has 3 verbs that end in ‘ing’ and describe the actions. Line 4 is a noun phrase which is a group of words (not a sentence) that go together to describe the noun. Line 5 is a synonym which is a word with a similar meaning to the noun.
